Values and Priorities

What are your priorities in life? What are the things that are most important to you? Or asked another way, what do you value most in life? Perhaps it's freedom, or maybe it's family. It could be your friendships or peace or creativity. Can you list 3-5 of them.
Now ask yourself what 3-5 things do you spend the most time on in your life? And do these lists match up?
If you're working, maybe you're building a stable base for your family because family is important to you. Or maybe you value family so you try to be with your kids as much as you can. This is great but if you then spend a lot of time mindlessly scrolling your phone instead of being present when you are with your kids, what you think you're giving your priorities too is actually being undermined by unimportant stuff.
Freedom has always been one of my top values. I prioritise my yoga practice because it continues to help me uncover more and more freedom, in my body, my mind and my spirit, in my relationships, in my thinking, in my life.
When we are clear about where are values lie and what is most important to us then we can put these things first when it comes to prioritising our time. And if we're not clear on the things that are most important to us, all the other small things will rush in to fill the void.
Our time will get eaten up by things we don't value and that don't add value to our lives.
