Begin Again

When you're a beginner at something, everything is brand new. There's lots of excitement and energy. When we approach our practice as a checklist or as if there is nothing to learn it can get dull and uninspiring very quick.
When you are a beginner, there are no rules. Our minds aren't fixed on things having to be done a particular way. This keeps us open to new discoveries. If you are an expert, you stop exploring and experimenting.
Beginners have no expectations, which gives you unlimited possibility. It lets your imagination be in charge so you are creating your experience rather than predicting it based on the past. In this state of mind, there lies the potential for example, for a pose which used to be one you hated to become a new world of understanding, possibility and access you may never have dreamed of.
I urge you to give it a try in class this week.
